Medan... here we come...
|
|
Asalnya susah nak kumpul orang gak… sebab masing-masing sibuk tambahan plak ramai yg dah keje. Tinggal aku, rash dan buk aje.
Then satu arie… saja je main-main bincang ngan kakak aku, kata nak pi Medan… tup tup tup… kitorg dah plan nak bawak satu femili pegi.
Confirm tarikh… booking flight.. seme berjalan lancar gitu… sampailah sebulan sebelum tarikh tu.. Air Asia call ckp flight cancel! Giler ke ape… late notice sgt nih ! geramm ooo… nak wat camne… flight Penang-Medan dah discontinued. Beberapa kali aku berulang ke airport, ngan Ruby la, ngan Rash laa.. sbb nak settlekan… last2 kak aku dpt settlekan melalui phone. Kitorg leh refund tiket, tapi nak booking balik, dah takde promotion price. Iskk… sgt tak adil… bukan kita yg cancel maa… tapi apakan daya… terpaksa akur… so kena booking tiket KL-Medan kalau nakgi.
Hasilnya kena tambah sikit tambang tu. Sedih aaa…
Kitorg yang lain dah book, dok berdoa gak takda apa2 masalah lain plak. Yang member tinggal lah Rash, Buk, Alisa, Pa’an dan Nando. Femili aku… semua termasuk Ainaa, kecuali abang ipar aku sbb ada kursus lak minggu tu. Abg Ammy tak bleh ikut tak dapt cuti, frust dia...
Esoknya, gi pick up my sis kat airport… then bertolak sama-sama makan sarapan di Sinar Pagi , makan Soto… before heading to Berastagi.
Perjalanan ke Berastagi 2 jam… byk naik bukit. Dah sampai, berhenti kejap makan jagung then naik lagi sampai ke Gundaling.
Sedapp ooo manggis dia.. manis sgt… Dah nak bertolak… perasan yg Nando ngan Pa’an still missing… shopping sakan gak diorg ni hehehe…beg plastik besau giler… Then we singgah kat Lau Debuk-debuk (tmpt mandi air panas) ni kawasan dkt gunung berapi. kitorg tak bawak baju so tak jadi lah nak turun... jus amik2 gmbr kt kawasan tu je....
Perjalanan ke medan balik a bit bumpy dan end up ramai terkena mabuk perjalanan. Lepas berhenti makan utk malam skaligus… kitorg kembali ke umah telkomsel.
Malam sikit…. Irvan, Ade dgn Mira join, dengan 2 org saudara Ade skali. Bawa kitrg gi makan durian… kalau nak compare… murah durian kat sini… sedap pun sedap… dan aku dan conka memang hantu durian. Walaupun aku dah sedia asalnya sakit tekak… makan jugak… sampai ke penghujung rancangan… akhirnya akulah juara durian…sbb aku makan paling banyak dan keep on makan wpun yg lain dah berhenti….
Then lepak minum2 kat Merdeka Walk… suasana dia lebih kurang mcm Bintang Walk gak… kira kawasan happening kat medan waktu malam aaa….
Penat2 dah nampak muka sesorang… balik ke rumah tamu tu, tak tidur gak lagi…Kitorg wat board meeting diskas pasal hal-hal bendahari sikit…then titok … esok pagi ni sure sensorang tidok lam kete nih…

Girlie Weekie in Langkawi
|
|
My bags are packed,
I’m ready to go…
Hehehe… Langkawi here we come. Originally, it was supposed to be a one night cruise around Penang island, until we found out that there are no such services offered anymore. Shimah swiftly changed the plan as a trip to Langkawi, half expecting all of us would actually be able to go. Somehow it turned out; the five of us – shimah, fardous, ruby , azah and I were granted with permissions without much difficulties. Only mas couldn’t join us this time
The 5 ladies… gathered at shimah’s house, stayed there overnight, and rushed to penang jetty the next morning. The journey to Langkawi took about 2 and half hours and luckily no one had seasick. As we arrived Kuah Jetty, I was feeling a bit dizzy… no… not because of the sea, but the pills Ruby gave us, that was supposed to avoid seasick. Oh… no… next time… not taking any pills…
Shimah and Azah have made early reservations on the rental car and resort, so everything was kind of well planned, and things did go smoothly. The condition of the car was okay… erm… exceeded our expectations actually… it was rather a handsome car with muffler and turbo engine. I was appointed as the driver for this vacation, so to my pleasure… I stepped on the gear and roared down the Iswara on roads of Langkawi. Now I know why guys go goo-goo ga-gaa over these types of engine… not that I favored it though. We used the maps that we got as our guide. Shimah being the map reader, and the other three as the sign-board readers.
We stayed at the Malibest Resort in Pantai Chenang, only RM100 per night for a room with two queen-size beds, quite reasonable I must say. Comfortable and nicely set, so we were pretty satisfied with the good start we had for the day.
We had a short nap, as all of us were kind of exhausted from journey via the sea. Then we went on the “lawatan sambil belajar” (field trip), to Crocodile Farm, then the Cable Car in Gunung Mat Chincang. We stopped by one of the beach sides, enjoyed the evening breeze and the wild wind speed.
Then we watched sunset at the Pantai Pasir Hitam before heading to Dataran Lang to catch sight of the gorgeous eagle on our night mode lenses.
Next morning the island hopping, this too, we manage to get reasonable price of RM36 for each person. We were assigned to a speed boat that has front view seats which we think is better than the one facing each other. The other passengers were from a small family who are friendly, so the boat ride was a pleasant one… and yeah… Bumpy one of course! Haha…
An hour in Dayang Bunting Island, Azah and I went for Kayak, whereas Shimah and Ruby took the paddle boat. Fardous stayed on the dock, enjoyed taking pictures of the surroundings. Best giler kayak kt situ, air tenang sejuk dan udara nyaman. The boat then took us to the Eagle Feeding area; it was quite a magnificent sight to watch all those eagles diving to the water surface. Next destination – pulau beras basah. Subhanallah, it was sooo beautiful… the sand was sooo soft and the water was sooo clear. Shimah and Ruby splashed into the water in no time… I was tempted but since I still had a terrible sore throat and cough, I had to pass on that. But it was fun capturing shots there, until even the sand started to occupy my lense. It was hard to leave the island, but time was up and we had to be boated back to the main island. We enjoyed the bumpy ride and the specks of salt forming on the skin every time the sea water splashed onto our faces.
We were flat down as we reached our room. We rested a while before going out for lunch then headed to Mahsuri’s Mausoleum. The other four had been there before but Fardous hadn’t, so we included it in our program. Then we stopped at the Beras Bakar, hmmm not to see the Beras but for shopping actually. All of us were exhausted, we had to retire… As we reached Malibest, it was dawn. We walked down the beach of Chenang… and again we watched the sunset. Hmm… I realized watching sunset at the beach can be very serene.
For dinner, only shimah and I went out to get some yummies. Both of us ate at a restaurant that served tandoori-alike meals, but I forgot to take note name of that place. We tapau for the rest, and stopped to get ubat batuk cap ibu dan anak for myself… I was practically speaking only air…
Next day, our last day. We couldn’t check out before 1 pm as the Le Tour de Langkawi started on that day and launched at the Pantai Chenang. Haha… so we waited and witnessed the end of the race. Last agenda would be da Shopping! We roamed around Pekan Kuah, but most of us shopped for chocolates ehehehehe…
And before we headed back to the jetty, we went to the Dataran Lang again, to take the day-shots this time. We returned the car after fully utilizing the fuel that we filled. Off we went… this time the ferry was a little more comfortable. Shimah’s parents were waiting at the Penang jetty, we had dinner together. Azah’s family came later and Azah and I had second round dinner… but I didn’t really eat as I was getting more and more sick from the cough. I reached home at 11pm… and booommm…. Pengsan hahhahaa…

PKTR 06
|
|
This year’s PKTR came at the right time, two weeks after my final project presentation, in other words, 2 weeks after me officially done with my masters. I have listed my so-called vacations and one of the plans includes the PKTR.
Thanx Ruby for giving me the ride to TgBungah hotel, where we had our 3 day sessions with the new pktr-ians. At first, we, the facilitators discussed briefly about the whole flow, then continued further discussions and chats over dinner… in which Kak Sarah came up with her peculiar hospital tales again. This time, it was the Pak Dollah Nganga’s story that won our hearts and cracked the livers out of us. Fortunately not any one of us ended up like the main character of the story.
The first slot for aytr went on well, but we hoped to see more of their (the ytr newbies) energy and creativity as we knew that they could offer more. Oh wait… lemme see… what kind of questions they asked us?? Most popular yet confusing question was “Apakah tempat paling menenangkan?” then there was “Status kak/abang?” and to those still in their bachelor/ette status, the soalan wajib was “Kenapa belum kahwin?” I managed to answer all of em though I had no idea the answers were accurate or not.
Second day,
The paintball and also tour to war museum, both were cancelled, as the kids were so exhausted. They were actually still very worn out after the rekreasi sessions. We started out the day with Topeng slot, and we sure didn’t forget to include our famous Pak Dollah Nganga character in the news headline. It seemed like their energy repositories had been restored as they seemed more lively and zealous in this slot. It is always fun to watch... the Topeng slot I mean, and also fun to hasut them… haha…
For the riadah @ rayaddah… we let them get some taste of ragging, as the games played were meant to make them suffer, well in a nice way that is. The shoes-jumble was very cruel yet interesting. Then, we spent the evening playing volleyball with them.
Nite…wow.. these people were soooo into pktr show… so semangat menegakkan pendirian. Hail to Doraemon supporters, I love ya all! Late night, gathered at the beach and we had the Renungan session… while listening to some of their overwhelming life stories, I did ponder on things I went through in my life too.
Life’s like that… at times you are at the top, at times you are way down… but that is the time where u should paddle hard, back to the top… or at least to rise steadily up from below. And listening to them, some who have leapt and rose back, some who might be just beginning to struggle, makes me realize that you can’t live your life alone… and it is important you have people around you to support or be there for you at times that matter, and for you to be there for some people who needed you most at a certain point of time.
After the renungan, the kids stayed there a while before returning to the conference room where they carried on with their persembahan practice. We the facis however stayed back dekat beach until very late. We were just sitting, watching the stars and singing some oldies. We tracked back the Juara Lagu songs, those earlier than 1990’s. Haha I just realized that I do have a good trackbacks of the oldies too. Paling syahdu is the Rozana song yang di modify jadi Azleena sung by abang Sumi and abang Ayaz. Bes giler ada org nyanyi nama kita… tangkap jiwang kejap, huahuahua … ‘azleeeena… kau gadis idamanku… hanya engkau yang satu…’ waduh2 syahduu gituh…
Early morning out to set the litmus module, enjoyed the morning sun. There was something lacking I think, as the module was not as energetic as we expected it to be, but we hoped the message given was made reasonable to them.
The ala-survivor – gunung berapi, was unpredictable as always. There were lots of emotions flooding, and we are pretty sure they get the message behind the module. This was a hard one, the hardest I guess… and it left some impact (be it positive or otherwise) on them.
for pentas tua… actually we all dah tua sangat untuk lakon2 atau tari2… so instead we make them do that for us via the Poco-poco contest. The competition was tough, phewww we had hard time deciding the best poco-poco king/queen… but finally the ketua org asli, hafidz was crowned king poco!
nite, watched em rehearsal… and haha… the Kena-tipu session was perfect! They all kena tipu hidup-hidup, credit goes to abg Ayaz, yg terrer giler berlakon, konon2 marah them… before we bring in the cake for the “convicts” @ besday girl/boys.
Then later… again we, the veterans lepak tepi pantai… but somehow we ran out of songs from our database… so all we did was just lepak2, share funny stories and even went to the extent of main ABC, before we retired ourselves back to our room at 3am. And yeah… Elly taught me how to baring on the sand and watch stars… heiheie… wonderful one…
The next day, after penilaian program, we all went down to Chowrastar, let them have some shopping for ole-ole to bring back from Penang. Nabilah treated me cendol for helping them with the video-making for their slide presentation. Yahoo… hahaaha… cam tak biasa makan cendol je… hiehiehie... suka laaa… dapat adik blanja!
Kat Sheraton, at first memang shocked to see the ballroom… it was rather small, and the kids were kind of disillusioned by it. They however quickly tried to adjust themselves and practiced their performance there. Dinner was okay, didn’t really focus on the food, and I bet most of us weren’t too. Everything went on pretty well, with some slight technical adjustments here and there… but overall; we were very satisfied with their performance that night.
Tun Hanif Omar stayed a little bit longer than other VVIPs, to have a say with the ytr newbies. Every year he has some new things to share and it was rather motivating.
So that was the end of PKTR 2006. Beyond formalities, everything started to go wacko, and I really felt like smacking abang Rizal, he went on all night match making every single one of us, the veterans… and he took sooo many ‘unique’ or should I say strange angles of pictures from all of our cameras. Kreatif lah tu ye…
Then half of the veterans went for supper before us, and we had to catch up. I was being nice tau showing the way and all that, but end up kena kutuk jugak sebab I told them that bukit jambul dekat je dengan sheraton… hohoho.. sorrie aaa… salah bajet lah! after coming back from kayu, ayaz, elly and I still bersemangat, lepak with the newbies for sometime before we call it a night.
In this year’s pktr, I must say, I open more of my topeng than I did last year. Last year was my first pktr as a faci, a little nervous… a little anxious… now I am beginning to open up my topeng gradually… and I would really like to be the real me when I am around in pktr as well as ytr… everyone has their topeng on kan… just the thickness or the openness differentiates one with another… ahaa banyak juga faci + urusetia from my own pktr batch - Elly, Wan, Riana, Azrul.. and Marha too... so mcm reunion jugak lah dgn diorg ni

Beraya Di Negeri Sendiri...
|
|
Humble Reminder: For those who are afraid of blood... or dont like to see creeeeepy pictures... do not browse through... other than that... u shall be wokay....
Every raya, including Raya Korban, I will go back home and celebrate with my family. There was only this once, when I was in matriculation, we were not allowed to go back for Raya Korban. But my parents came later in the evening, so it was fine.
I hear about people telling me how sad it is, not being able to celebrate raya with their family, especially on Raya Puasa. Some who went to further studies in overseas, and also from some who came from overseas to study here. But I don’t really know how it really felt… until this particular Raya Korban.
Actually… I did have an option… but by the time I changed my mind, it was too late… I had to spend Raya by myself…
My family went down to KL – spend the Raya and holidays there – my elder sister is in Kajang. Since I haven’t finished some part of my final project, I decided not to follow them. I think this is the first time I’ve ever put my studies in first priority after my family. Usually… family comes first, and no matter how busy I was with my studies, I’d quickly pack my back to follow them where ever they go. I’m the type of person who, though maybe my big exam is just few days away, I will go home and lepak with them, and forget about my exam for a while. So… my decision this time… I’m shocked myself. Maybe …. Maybe…. I was trying to put myself on test. Whether I can survive being alone! … right now… my family is still in KL.. and this is killing me… how I wish I’m with them now.
But despite the overwhelming feeling buzzing over my emotions… I did have some pleasant moments on this Raya.
In the morning, Fardous and I went to Eid prayers together. Different from me, Fardous has spent her last 8 raya away from her family in Libya. She has been in France, KL and now Penang… and she said this to me “This will be my last Eid in Malaysia. I’m happy I finally get to go to Eid prayers with a friend” I didn’t know what else to say but smile… I feel honored… and I realize… I’m not alone after all; a good friend of mine is here with me…
Then when the khutbah was delivered… the pictures of my family came back to mind, and all I could do is hold back tears. Now, I know how exactly Fardous felt for the past 4 years.
After the prayers, we joined the crowd in the Qurban area, and watched them performing the qurban. We witnessed 4-5 qurbans if I’m not mistaken. I was too occupied with my best-est friend, Miss Sony H1, that I lost count
And…. That was the first time I saw qurban ritual. Every year my father asked me to follow along but I was tooo afraid… as I am hemaphobic… afraid of blood!
But… I really wonder… I didn’t feel a thing… I mean… not scared, didn’t feel like going to faint (like how I usually feel)… hmm… so I kept snapping pictures… not feeling phobia to the spurt of blood coming out every time slaughtering took place.
After that, we went back to the lab…. Hahaha… funny… I spent my raya in the LAB.. hohoho… we planned to eat at the KFC… then… Miss superwoman saved the day… Shimah brought us lunch from home. Her house is in the island, but can be considered quite far from uni. Both of us were so touched by her effort to come and brought us wonderful delicious lunch. Terubat hati ini… Thank you so much shimah.
Hehe… then at night… zuraini picked me up, went to her house for dinner going out of usm, pheww.. and get a feel of home… pheww… and get to eat delicious nasi tomato… pheewwww…. what a bliss… thank you sista… ehehe… and ciku is so adorable, it answers to my craving for cats haha! Though quite scaredy-cat, still cute and adorable lah!
Thank you Fardous, Shimah and Zuraini… for a pleasant day. Simple but meaningful… and something for a keep in my memory…
I miss my family…

Sumi des and Sarah chan....
|
|
Kalau diikutkan hati, mau ajer aku nak buat port kat situ dari pagi lagi, tapi 26hb esoknya tu, aku kena antar theses research project aku. Aku dahpun stay-up sampai pagi… so tidak dapatlah daku lepak awal-awal.
Makan makan… then aku nyebok2 amik gambar… saje tumpang sekaki aje… nak simpan sebagai kenangan gituh.
Hiehiehie… kenduri belah abang sumi kat KL, aku tak dapat gi… aisehmeng sayang tol, sbbnyer rasanya kat situ kang lagi ramai member YTR akan berkumpul… ni jeles nih… slalu jer tertinggal reunion atau gathering.. uhuhuhuk…. Tapi apakan daya.. nextweek viva aku…
Kak sarah ni…
Aku kenal thru YTR ni… tapi kitorg pernah jupe masa skolah dulu. Dia skolah Al-Irsyad, aku CBM… dan kitorg berjupe masa bertanding English Debate dulu. Mmg power gak orangnya bila berdebat-debut nie… takuzz ooh…
Then jupe balik masa pktr99, it seemed that she went to the pktr the year before, so she is my senior lah… she came to our closing night, and we exchanged quick updates…
5 years after that… I met her again… when I joined the alumni night with Tun drM. Tun Rahah was there, so was Datuk Nazim and his wife, at that time, fiancé, D.Juma. She approached me asking me whether Nurjuma was my schoolmate? Huh Juma?
So from there, it began... my involvement in the ytr back (though not so active)… and I got to know some new people in the group, and that includes abang sumi, the mr.pengantin lelaki. When I saw him at the AGM 2 years ago, and I saw Kak Sarah, though both seated far from each other… I had a hunch… this guy looks somehow alike with this Kak Sarah… ntah2 ada jodoh aper…. I don’t even know them that much at that time… but I did come up with that conclusion… huhuhu… (tok nujum ke aku ni? Jeng jeng)
Lepeh dah kenal2 tu, baru tau the stori-mori… kuikuikuii… yg bes pasal diorg ni… dua-dua suka involve ngan aktiviti sosial… charity programs etc. dan sempoi aje bila jadik member. Ngan kak sarah, bila ada aktiviti ytr ni, bila dok sebilik… bes aje dgr citer2 dia… lepeh dia jadi doktor, cerita beliau semakin menarik namun semakin creepy… kalo abng sumi lak, penuh dgn tips camne nak menghadapi masalah buaya2 di malaysia. Hieheihie… both of u… thanks a lot… both telah jadik my penasihat professional dalam certain2 perkara.
Ehehe… lagi satu…. Aku slalu tersasul… panggil Kak sarah, Abang Sarah dan Abang Sumi, Kak Sumi… kopius den… kopius…
okei tokei....
kepada KAK Sarah dan ABANG Sumi.....
